Have you updated your purse lately??

After many visits from relatives this summer, I finally have a selection of family photos to play with. Wouldn't you know it that one of the few where the kids and I all look decent, my dh (darling husband) is making a face? Oh well, that's pretty typical of him!
So, when I saw the GREAT stamp set in August's Club Digital, I knew it was time to update my purse and highlight this very typical family photo!

Simple Styles and Photos on a Grid

London_in_Spring.jpg
DET Alumni sandygb writes, "Anyone who know me, know I don't usually stick to simple styles, so this page was a bit of a challenge for me. The challenge was in trying not to add just ONE more element. This is my take on a simple layout using photos on a grid. I typically use only one or 2 main photos on a page and although using multiple photos is not exactly a challenge for me, it is not my typical page. I hope I suceeded in meeting the goals of this inspiration challenge! I recently used Rene's Trunk Show kit for another challenge and loved the simple grungy style of the kit and thought it was perfect in keeping to a simple style page. I used the corner of the mustard color paper to mat my photos which I placed in a grid format. I added a 15 pixel inner edge stroke to my photos as well as low drop shadows. I placed the grungy black painted/stamped frame under the matted photos...added the the old metal bar element horizontally and vertically under the mustard matting, and placed a row of the rusty brads along the bottom edge. The simple journaling labels each of the photos and the title was done with Kim's Stucco Stamper Alpha (one of my favorites) and Tina's England Stamp (which I recolored)from her Destination Stamps2 set. The journal labels Read: *** London Eye *** Big Ben *** Steve *** Tower Bridge *** Carrie *** June 2007"

one-year.jpgDET Alumni shazzt writes, "I was inspired by the ad that Meg chose for the Next Step challenge and finally got around to doing my page. I ended up changing it quite a bit from the original though. These are random shots of my son from last year - can I say I am officially "caught up" now?? LOL"

2006_MaureenPhotographingAllWeather1.jpgDET Alumni MaureenH writes,"After my husband and I had been doing nature photography for a couple years, we realized we weren't taking any photos of ourselves and were thinking someday someone is going to throw out these sunset and bluebird photos, but those photos with people in them may be passed down through the generations. We made a commitment that whenever we were out we would at least once turn around and photograph each other. I wanted to do something with these photos that kind of told the story of our photography and liked how the grid layout worked for that. I love word art too and I think the word art made this layout special for me."

father-and-sons.jpgDET Alumni shazzt writes,"I really liked this photo of the boys in my like and wanted to scrap it simply - but with a masculine look. I have been dying to use this background of Becky's since I bought the kit and Kim's new frames went perfectly with it. Journalling reads: We don’t get to spend a lot of time together as a family. Life seems to get in the way and there is always something that needs to be done. So our visit to Hamurana Springs in Rotorua was a welcome retreat away from doing “stuff” and a chance just to have a quite walk together and admire the beauty that was all around us."
